You can always do that via group chat, you will be helped by teachers or fellow students. We also have regular video calls throughout the week. These are specifically about a certain topic. If you have questions about any of those topics you can join in the video calls and ask your questions.
To advance to the next module, you will be given final assignments that we review. We check your understanding by giving you larger and larger final assignments, some of which will take you a few days to complete. So there is no test or exam. We believe that a lot of programming is more important than a test or exam.
Winc Academy's courses are open to everyone. You do not need any specific education or technical knowledge. However, we do assume that you have basic computer skills before you begin training (e.g., install necessary programs, save files in different formats, etc).
This varies from course to course and from person to person. You can set your own pace and pause the training at any time. We remember which lessons and questions you have completed. If you log in at a later time and go to your course, you simply pick up where you left off.
On the training pages you can see under "Practical Information" how many hours you will spend on the training. Based on how much time you can spend on the training per day/week/month, you can calculate how long you will spend on the training. So it's more or less up to you!
That's entirely up to you! Our courses are designed so that you can make it a full-time study or choose to study only in the evening or on weekends, for example. Our teachers are available every working day from 9:00-18:00. However, course materials and contact with fellow students are available 24/7.
You will be in contact with your teachers and fellow students via Slack (our chat program) and video calling. The chat is open 24/7. Tutors are available during office hours. Video calling with teachers is also done during the week. You can connect with your fellow students any time you want.
The teaching materials of our programs are in English, and contact with teachers and fellow students is in either Dutch or English, according to your preference.
You can take this course at your own pace. So one week you might have five days of time and the next week only one. Therefore, we do not have groups or classes. Through the chat and video call moments you do have regular contact with your fellow students and it is often fun!
Although our teachers' explanations can be in Dutch, the course material for everyone is in English. So you must be able to read and understand English. If you don't understand it, you can always ask our teachers for extra explanation. So far, however, students have never had any problems with this.
As a starting junior front-end developer, you will earn between €1800 and €2800 gross. Within this field, your salary will grow exponentially with your experience.
Whenever you want! We have no set start dates, so you can start training at any time.
After the Front-end Development course, you can apply directly for the junior front-end developer position. Other positions you can apply for are: web developer, web designer and IT consultant.
If you are talking about math A or B, the answer is: no. However, there will be assignments where it is helpful if you have a basic knowledge in math. Although you can let the computer do a lot of thinking and calculating, it is helpful if you have some idea of what your equations will yield in your code.
So mathematics is not a requirement, and it certainly does not have to be the reason for not learning programming. However, it can help you understand programming problems because logic helps you to be able to simplify the problems.
We recommend working for an employer first and then starting for yourself. The advantage of this is that you end up in an environment where there is often a lot of room for development and you can learn a lot from your colleagues. After that, you can of course continue working as an independent entrepreneur!
Yes! All of Winc Academy's courses are designed in such a way that even students without an HBO or WO background can follow the course. What helps here is that you can follow the program at your own pace. It is good to realize that the training is at HBO level, but you do not have to prove that you have this level.
Yes, once you have satisfactorily completed all final assignments, you will receive a certificate of completion. With this you can show your (future) employer what you have learned and which languages and techniques you have mastered. You can see our certificate as a kind of 'certificate of guarantee'. If your employer is not satisfied, you can always come back to us and we will help you regain or improve those skills.
While it's true that you won't have any work experience after training at Winc Academy, we do make sure that during the training you are as prepared as possible to start working immediately. This means that we not only pay attention to theory, but that you also work a lot on assignments that are similar to work you will encounter in practice. In addition, you will develop important skills, such as the ability to independently solve problems you encounter as a developer.
The period in which you have access to the program starts immediately after your registration is completed. In this period you have time to complete your training and you can review all the material when desired.
The maximum access per training can be found on the training page. If you have not managed to complete the course within that time, you can always extend the duration for €25 per month. In that case, you will be notified automatically.
The computer you are learning on should be reasonably fast. You're going to be running several programs at once, switching between programs a lot, and you're going to be doing things (sometimes) that are fairly demanding of your computer. You're also going to have many tabs open at once in your browser. You can't work on a tablet (like an iPad) or a Chromebook. So Windows, MacOS or a Linux variant is required. We also recommend that you have a functioning webcam and microphone for the live classes.

Winc Academy is a private education, so you are not eligible for government student loans. If you can't make ends meet because you have no income while studying at Winc Academy, however, you can apply to TechMeUp. What's good to know anyway is that the cost of training is deductible on your income tax return. Also, you can ask your employer to pay the cost and then you can use your gross salary to pay the training cost to your employer.
Yes, you can also pay for our training in installments. On the training page you will find the option of the number of installments.
Yes, Winc Academy is recognized by the UWV as a training company. Because of this, it is sometimes possible to pay for (part of) your training using the UWV's training budget. If you want more information about the possibilities, please email welkom@wincacademy.nl.
No VAT is charged on our courses. Winc Academy is exempt from VAT because we offer professional courses and are registered with the Central Register for Short Professional Education(CRKBO). There aren't any. All you need to have for yourself is a good computer and a good internet connection. All course materials are included in the training and are all digital.

In the training we pay attention to finding a job. For example, during the training you will work on building your own portfolio on Github. We have also set up a job application training program, in which you will receive personal coaching, practical assignments and job application tips. With these you will work on a convincing resume and LinkedIn profile, learn how to write a strong cover letter and prepare for a job interview. Everything for that dream job!
There are more vacancies in the Randstad, than outside the Randstad. But within the Randstad the vacancies are also filled faster than outside the Randstad. So that means that there are fewer programmers outside the Randstad, making it harder for those companies to fill a vacancy, which in turn increases your chances!
Meanwhile, a large number of students have already found jobs after completing their training with us.
You learn the basics and what you learn, you learn very well with us. As a programmer, you will need to continue to develop throughout your life, and at Winc Academy we teach you how to do that.
Wherever you want! Programmers are wanted in all industries. After completing the Front-end Development course, you can start working as a junior Front-end Developer or Web developer. After completing the Full-stack Development course, you can also apply for these positions, as well as for those that require knowledge of Python, for example. Our students work at large companies such as Bol.com and Visma-Raet, but also at web development agencies, where they build an application or web environment on behalf of other companies.
